정지원은 재료의 결합과 변형을 통해 발생하는 물성의 변화를 탐구하며, 서로 다른 성질이 만나 새로운 밀도와 구조를 형성하는 지점에 주목한다. 주로 스티로폼과 톱밥을 활용해 재료의 성질이 확장되고 재구성될 수 있는 가능성을 실험하며, 이 과정에서 만들어진 결과물은 재료가 스스로 드러낸 물성의 흔적이라 할 수 있다. 그의 작업은 가구와 오브제, 설치의 경계를 넘나들며, 재료 중심의 조형 방식을 통해 물질에 대한 새로운 인식의 가능성을 제시한다.

Jung Jiwon explores changes in material properties that emerge through the combination and transformation of materials, focusing on the moments where different qualities meet to form new densities and structures. Working primarily with styrofoam and sawdust, he experiments with the possibility of expanding and reconfiguring the properties of materials. The results formed through this process can be understood as traces of the material's own properties revealing themselves. His work moves across the boundaries of furniture, object, and installation, presenting new possibilities for perceiving matter through a material-centered approach to form.
